Twenty-one students from Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Shoolini University, have been picked up by the Microtek company, which is a market leader in manufacturing of UPS, inverters and solar systems.
The Company has selected 10 students from Mechanical Engineering, eight from Electronic Engineering and three students from Civil Engineering. A team from Microtek had conducted tests and interviews online and students had participated in the online placement drive from their respective places.
Describing the placements of so many students at one go by a leading company like Microtek, as a boost to the engineering programmes being offered in the University, Vice Chancellor Prof P K Khosla said the placements reflected the quality of students who pass out of the University.
He said Shoolini university provides well-equipped labs and essential practical knowledge to the students to make them ready for industry. This placement is truly a huge windfall in this pandemic impacted time, he added.

Microtek has planned a major expansion drive through new products and new world class manufacturing facilities in Himachal Pradesh. “To support the successful implementation and running of our projects we need fresh smart talent from reputed institutes like yours”, Mr Gupta wrote to the University Director General Mr Arvind Nanda.
Shoolini University and Microtek are also planning to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for further mutual cooperation.
Shoolini University has had a close and gratifying association with Microtek since 2017 when the VLCI programme was launched at Shoolini University with participation of 10 companies located in Parwanoo and Solan industrial belt. VLCI is a globally recognized process based on VLFM (Visionary Leaders For Manufacturing) programme proven for achieving manufacturing excellence. It is being driven in India by JICA (Japanese International Co-operation Agency) of Japan and the CII.
